Laryngology and rhinology

Laryngology is a branch of medicine that deals with disorders of the larynx. Most of the disorders of the larynx can be caused by strain or injury to the vocal cords through misuse of the voice. Treatment for conditions of the larynx and vocal cords are highly individual, depending on your age, condition, and profession. It is a subspecialty within otolaryngology. A laryngologist is a surgeon with a special interest in airway, voice, and swallowing disorders involving the voice box and the throat. Rhinology is the subspecialty of medicine focused on the treatment of diseases and disorders affecting the nasal cavity and sinuses which include allergies, problems with taste and smell, nosebleeds, obstructed nasal airflow, and sinusitis.
